Duncan Cameron

Duncan was born on 16 February 1870 at Kilbarchan, the tenth of twelve children. He married Margaret McCrone Ferguson on Christmas Day 1897 at 18 Walkinshaw Street, Johnstone. Both were 27.
Duncan Hartley knew these grandparents. Grandad Cameron picked up a nasty foot infection, thought to be from the beach at Bridlington or Scarborough, and had to have a foot amputated. Several further amputations followed; he died when Duncan Hartley was seven. Grandma Cameron died when he was twelve. They are buried at Lawnswood, Leeds. The headstone implies a birth year of 1870 for both, which the marriage record confirms.
