When Arko sees me getting my camera out he normally turns around to show me his backside. This time however his mind was fixed on some distant objects, probably involving food. Front view much nicer 😂

A profitable morning so far. Managed to implement Elasticlunr Search on my website with the help of @eleventy and https://www.belter.io/eleventy-search/
After the rain has gone

Today we are guiding a couple on Mulhacen. After a poor winter, snow-wise, it seems like things are looking up towards the end of May! 😂 Photos show the summit and clients descending the west flank to spend the night at the Refugio Caldera shelter which can be seen looming out of the mist. It's still winter folks!

Had head down coding most of the day. Once you get into it it's almost meditational and robotic, so very therapeutic. Anybody else find this? And, then I get to a stage (10 hrs later) where the head just won't function and I need to shut off. This bit happens quickly. So, it's wine and pizza time 🍕 🍷
Klyuchevskaya Sopka 4835m and Kamen 4575m from the near the col just SW of Vulkan Sredniy 2978m. I had just made my way across the plateau from our base camp between the two mountains. It's a white and thoroughly unforgettable place and one day I would love to return but it's a harsh place when the weather turns.

It's raining outside so I'm sat by the fireside recalling past images. Here's a blast from the past. Mt Fitzroy (Chalten) surrounded by huge lenticular clouds. Taken from the NE from the dirt track leading to Lago Desierto.

Came across this wonderful old tree in the gorge below Moclin last week. I'm not good enough on tree ID to know what type it is, but I just love the complicated way the vines interlink and become at one with the main trunk.

Fresh snow on the southern slopes of Mulhacen 3482m, the highest mountain in mainland Spain, this afternoon. Most welcome late season precipitation for the

Linear hike from Ferreirola to Pampaneira after a stop for a tapa lunch in Capileira.

Some quiet corners of some of our traditional Alpujarra villages. The roofs are built with traditional materials and some date back to the times of occupation by the Moors. Wonderful places to visit where time seems to have stood still

Just had to stop and take this photo on my way to "work" this morning. The first rays of the sun are illuminating the Alpujarra towns of Bubion and Capileira. The Barranco de Poqueira remains in shade but the Sierra Nevada ridge rises behind with Veleta (3394m) prominent. Today out guiding with a Chris Stewart group between Ferreirola and Pampaneira via the towns/villages of Pitres, Capilerilla, Capileira and Bubion.

@tapasinthesun Stunning!

Gabi Fava admiring the magnificent Mt Fitzroy (Chalten) from our campsite alongside the Glacier Sur de Gorra Blanca, on our approach to the Patagonian Icecap

3 weeks ago we put a small polytunnel in our swimming pool. Did it to improve water efficiency in a smaller area. Yesterday evening we ate our first lettuce and the rest of the crops are shooting up. Tomatoes, red & green peppers, chilli, broccoli, cucumber all doing well. And, no problem with wild boar destroying the crops 😂

Enjoyed reading this article by @murph explaining the very clearly
