Some street scenes from Granada today with a hiking group having a rest day off from the mountains. I'd forgotten how vibrant and photogenic the city is. It's frantic one moment yet utterly peaceful and beautiful the next. And, of course, always overlooked by the magnificent Alhambra Palace.

A narrow street scene with sun and shady areas dominating. To the rear rises the turrets of the Alhambra Palace fortress

The turrets of the Alhambra Palace fortress area rise up into the blue sky. The palace is surrounded by green forests. In the foreground are some houses.

Well our little swimming pool to greenhouse conversion seems to be starting to pay off. The tomato plants are almost my height (1.8m) and we are waiting patiently for them to ripen. The cucumbers are ready to eat and delicious, as are the lettuce. Red and green peppers a bit behind but starting.

Our greenhouse (a "polytunnel" tent) full of plants. The large tomato plants are at the back, peppers, broccoli and chilli to the near right

Really terrifying stuff! In the Silvretta group in the municipality of Galtür (Austria) there was a big landslide on Sunday afternoon. In the area of the northwest flank of the southern Fluchthorn. Rocks thundered with full force over the Hochmoor Breites Wasser towards the Jamtalhütte.

I'm investigating the setting up of a small community for my local hiking group. A place we can share photos, arrange meets, discuss trips etc. Anybody got any suggestions or recommendations of what platform on the might suit?

A few photos from yesterday's very tough and tiring but ultimately exciting and enjoyable romp around Las Buitreras del Durcal. Amazing, spectacular scenery and just 20 minutes drive from home. N.B This is a tough hike and only suitable for those with a head for heights that have confident and secure footwork.

A group of hikers pass along a narrow sandy path. Up and to the left are some rocky mountain peaks

Hikers on the left stand on a narrow path whilst to the right cliffs drop off into an arid basin

Some hikers have to surmount a small, awkward rock step.

@khusky and I topping out this morning on a rather unusual and relatively unknown summit.

Using an old laptop to revisit Fedora 38 Linux desktop. Always liked this os but it seems to have come on leaps and bounds since I last used it. Very polished performer. Enjoying getting to know it again.
