I was surprised by the amount of snow still remaining in the Pyrenees. It's going fast though and leaving behind some incredible snow tunnels

Arrived in the lovely town of Panticosa in the Pyrenees this morning. That's the town on the far side of this lake. Done some driving around this afternoon seeking out hike start points and searching...
@hikingdude T-Shirt and shorts weather yesterday. That's what made me comment about your very cold looking photo this morning 😂
@madeindex yes we do get the "Calima" Saharan dust affecting us. More and more in recent years. This dune though is built up by the constant easterlies that move sands away from the coast and up into...
@EA7KRC I hope not, I'm planning for a night camping out at nearly 3000m! 😱 Rushes off to check weather forecast 🤣

Winter is back. Snow on the hills above our house this morning. Snow level about 1600m

April showers and its only February! Another threatening wet weather spell inbound to the Alpujarra
@minds happy to help any way I can. Maybe have a chat after the bad weather passes through?

A rough, windy morning here in Spain's Alpujarra hills. Plenty of heavy showers heading our way too. Bring it on, the more precipitation the better for all, even though it will undoubtedly lead to mor...

Some cold images I took during this weeks excursion into the high Sierra Nevada for this

Looking at this photo, now I realise that it's about time I got off my rear end and headed up into those lovely white snows. It's the best early season snowfall for quite some time, maybe 5+ years? Go...
@Ali absolutely. And it's not a finite thing. Every trip is different. You can only go ultralight IMO if you are very familiar with your terrain know the worst likely expected weather and ground condi...

Our final week here in El Chaltén, Can't believe 4 weeks already. Comfortable here, surrounded by warm, friendly people & a great selection of bars & restaurants. We've been doing lots of stunning tre...
@[email protected] one problem is that campsites have to be reserved in advance I think. People under pressure to get to next destination. Here in El Chalten most come for just a few days. If the w...
@[email protected] yes, very, very sad. We are based on the Argentine side but we had warnings it was coming in. Everybody knew. When the storm hit we were cosy indoors drinking Malbec. Whatever th...
@Paws2Trail @saarmuller @khusky we are based at El Chalten on the Argentine side. We got the rough weather but everyone knew it was coming in. Bitterly cold. Had to stay in drinking coffee and malbec...
