@jpoesen The PMR446 Channels are legal. The radio not quite as they have above 0.5w power (5w+) and have detachable antenna. I use them here and in the mountains and they are much better than the cheap walkie talkies you can get. I have communicated over long distances with these. I figure that if the channels are legal then who is going to actually pull me up on the radio itself?
