@[email protected] we once came down from a 3 day hike across a range. Spring conditions lower down but definitely winter up high. We had axes, crampons and snowshoes tied to our packs. Late afternoon we met a guy heading up with small fashion rucksack and wearing sandals. He asked me how far it was to the other side of the range? I said at least 2 days hiking and suggested he should turn around. He said that he was a quick walker and continued on. I suspect he did eventually turn around.
