@bergmeister I don't know if you know but the crash site is marked now on Google Earth at 34°45'53"S 70°17'06"W. Also good short video retracing the route the plane took and why it ended up where it did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1fn6jeov5w&t=284 also suggests the way they walked out westwards into Chile. Fascinating stuff
