@TimKStanton I have heard that long term durability might be an issue with such fabrics. They are amazingly light but feel so flimsy. I was aware of this possibility during Tuesdays hike so avoided brambles, thorns etc we encountered. I also kept the, also flimsy, Patagonia Houdini Windshirt on for 75% of the day so that would have offered some protection to the underlying layer.
If I was heading for an area of dense forest I might well be tempted to revert to a stronger, tougher outer layer.
