@[email protected] that's interesting. For 9 months of our mountain year we have huge high pressure systems sat over the range for days on end. This makes weather prediction and consequently, gear choice, very easy. During the 4 main summer months you can sleep out at 3000 metres with just a roll mat and 3 season bag or quilt. It is amazing how many have not cottoned on to the lightweight revolution though. We have people taking 15kg+ backpacks into the hills during those same 4 summer months!
