@isazi it's a great read. And, for someone as talented as him to write about a trip that didn't turn out as planned is very refreshing and interesting. I have been fortunate enough to have been to the base of Cerro Torre west side (Circo de las Altares) a few times so I know how hard it is just to get there, nevermind climb the mountain. Alone, carrying 33kg+, in winter, is just amazing.
