@Steveb I think other search engines will eventually take over, these will possibly be monetised by small donations. For example I have started to use https://kagi.com. It's pretty good in terms of search results, dare I say as good as Google in its heyday? But ... I am making a €5 subscription for the privilege of being served ad free.
